TEDxPlano 2019

“If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.” Lao Tzu

Change seems to surround us on every front, moving faster than ever. Along with angst and turmoil, change brings choice and opportunity. It leads us to ask bigger questions, try new things, explore different possibilities and forge new paths.

TEDxPlano will explore and celebrate ideas birthed in a world of change. Get ready…get set…PIVOT.

TEDxPlano will be held Saturday, April 6, 2019.

tedxplanosalon

TEDxPlanoSalon

As far back as the 17th century, small groups gathered to “aut delectare aut prodesse” – “either to please or to educate.”  Today, TedxPlanoSalon series brings a new lively discussion among local individuals to explore the future of our community. The TEDxPlanoSalon series moves from listening to idea-makers on stage to participating as an idea-maker within a small group environment. Salon participants engage in lively discussions on a specified topic, learning more about one another and exchanging ideas.

Submit An Idea

Great ideas emerge all around us, all the time.

If you’d like to suggest a speaker (whether that’s you or someone else) with a great idea for TEDxPlano, please complete our speaker nomination form. We are accepting applications for TEDxPlano 2019 through Wednesday, November 22, 2018.

What types of ideas make for a good Talk? We’re looking for ideas:

  • on any topic or subject matter.
  • that can be realized in some way.
  • that demonstrate original thinking.

We select speakers approximately five months before the upcoming TEDxPlano event. Our curatorial team receives hundreds of ideas every year, so we are not be able to reply to each submission. Submitting an idea does not guarantee selection as a TEDxPlano speaker.

About

About TEDxPlano

TEDxPlano is an annual event at the Courtyard Theater in Historic Downtown Plano, celebrating the innovation, creativity, and inspiration found within the North Texas region. We are a group of idea-lovers who bring people together, focused on sharing ideas with the potential to transform our community. The culturally diverse audience of TEDxPlano are learners, scientists, innovators, explorers, activists, visionaries, students and the intellectually curious.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxPlano, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
